KARACHI, April 16: Berthing activity was slow as only one container ship was accommodated berth during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, two more vessels with containers and palm oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Six ships, Nedlloyd America, Shadwan Island, Donna-V, Theoniki, Chembulk Ulsan and Cerigo, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, fertiliser, wheat, palm oil and crude oil.

A cargo volume of 62,221 tons comprising 38,136 tons of import and 24,085 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Chembulk Ulsan, Cerigo and Nedlloyd America sailed out while Theoniki was expected to leave the port.
