HYDERABAD, April 14: The syndicate of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences has decided to increase salary of temporary employees from Rs3,000 to Rs4,600 as per the announcement of chief minister. The decision was taken during a meeting.

It was further decided to fix minimum salary of low-paid employees at Rs6,000 per month as per the policy of government. The vice chancellor informed the meeting that a health insurance policy had been prepared for university employees of Grade-I-22 under which a limit of Rs300,000 had been fixed to provide medical treatment to an employee.

He said with effect from May 1, 2008, clinical professors will be paid Rs15,000 per month while assistant professors Rs10,000. Assistant professor and lecturers of Nursing Department appointed on contract basis had been regularized.

The former vice chancellor was sent on retirement for granting 130 admissions in MBBS whereas the former registrar was issued warning and former director admission was demoted by one grade. The syndicate decided that from the current year, two employees from Grade 1-16 will be sent to perform Hajj every year.
