Rizwan smashes scintillating ton

KARACHI, April 13: Rizwan Ahmed smashed a scintillating ton to guide United Bank Limited (UBL) to 327 all out on the opening day of their three-day Patrons Trophy grade-II cricket competition against Pakistan Steel at the Quaid-i-Azam Park here on Sunday.Rizwan belted four sixes and five boundaries in his 124 while Riaz Kail scored 58 with the help of ten boundaries.

Nauman Ali, who made 45 with five boundaries, put on 93 runs for the seventh wicket with Rizwan Ahmed.

Pacer Iftikhar Khan caused the main problem in UBL batting ranks with four wickets for 50 runs in 16.2 overs while left-arm spinner Salman Fazal Khan claimed three wickets for 101 in 30 overs.

When the day’s play got over, Pakistan Steel scored 17 for loss of one wicket in seven overs.
