JACOBABAD, April 13: Two girls were killed and their mother and two brothers were seriously injured in an attack on a house in Jafarabad village near Bhittai Colony in Tangwani early on Sunday.

Reports said that a group of Banglani tribesmen forced into the house of Saifullah Rind and opened fire on the family but met resistance.

The assailants and the family exchanged fire for half an hour, resulting in the death of Giranz, 3, and Soomri, 12, and severe injuries to their mother Janwaro and brothers Nazir and Nadir.

By the time police reached the village the attackers had fled. The injured were moved to Rahimyar Khan.

The murders are said to be an offshoot of a running dispute between Rind and Banglani tribes.

The girl’s father, Saifullah, said on phone that he had no enmity with anyone.

Meanwhile, unidentified men shot dead one Sohbat on Sunday when he was asleep in his home in Lashkar Brohi village in the jurisdiction of Dil Murad police station.

Police shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy.
