NAWABSHAH: Child’s body found in manhole

NAWABSHAH, April 11: The body of a nine-year-old boy was recovered from a manhole on Sakrand road here on Friday.

Zain Siyal, son of Niaz Siyal, was missing for the last three days and his family members were searching for him.

After the recovery of his body, the family members and relatives, including the deceased’s father, held a protest demonstration.

The protesters raised slogans against the Nawabshah taluka municipal administration and held it responsible for the death of several children, including Zain.

They said that despite availability of funds, the TMA had failed to cover manholes in various parts of the city.

They demanded of the Sindh government to ensure registration of a murder case against the officials concerned of the TMA.

Meanwhile, four children were injured in a firing incident at a wedding ceremony on Market Road here on Friday.

Imran, Shamsuddin, Mohammad Asif and Rehan received bullet injuries when some unidentified people opened fire to celebrate wedding of Noor Nabi Qureshi.

Those injured were taken to the Nawabshah Medical College Hospital where they have been admitted.

No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.

KILLED: A taxi driver was shot dead by unidentified armed people on Sakrand road.

Armed assailants opened fire on Mohammad Nawaz Mugheri, 35, as a result he was seriously injured. He was taken to the Nawabshah Medical College Hospital where he died.
