Gas pipeline blown up

By Saleem Shahid

QUETTA, April 10: A pipeline supplying gas to the Pir Koh gas plant was blown up on Thursday.

Police sources said the blast was caused by an explosive device planted under the 16-inch diameter pipeline connecting the gas plant with the Pir Koh field. Gas supply to the plant was suspended.

The sources said that work to repair the damaged pipeline had been taken up.

Meanwhile, militants fired rockets and gun shots on a check-post of security forces in the Arand area of Sibi. The rockets did not hit the target.

Sources said that armed men damaged some machinery being used for construction of roads in the area. Claiming responsibility of the attack, a BLA spokesman said security forces had suffered casualties.
