10 killed in road accident

THATTA, April 10: Ten passengers were killed and 20 others suffered injuries when a Thatta-bound bus collided with a dumper near Gharo on the National Highway on Thursday.

The accident occurred when the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a blind curve. The bus carried pilgrims, including women and children, who were going to the shrine of famous saint Shah Yaqiq in the coastal town of Chuhar Jamali.

The victims were identified as Rashid, Shahid, Rashid, Shabana, Hajira, Asma, Shama, Fatima, Rashida and an unidentified person from Karachi’s Korangi area.

The injured were taken to hospitals in Gharo.
