Jica to help city govt Dispose solid waste

By Our Staff Correspondent

MULTAN, April 10: The Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) will help the city district government deal with solid waste and sewerage issues.

At a meeting with City District Nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar on Thursday, Jica representative Spinsaku Afukazaw said the agency would help the district government prepare feasibility reports on new projects and improvement of the ongoing Urban Services Project.

He said the project of inter-filtration of methane gas had been included to the southern Punjab Basic Urban Services Project to control environmental pollution. He said land had been acquired for a landfill at Habiba Sial on Vihari Road, where solid waste would be dumped by using the semi aerobic method.
