KARACHI, April 10: Eight ships carrying containers, crude oil and rock phosphate are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow where only two ships, Al-Rahalah-1 to load cement and Winco Silvia to unload and load general cargo were berthed after the departure of seven.

The departing ships were led by Cap Colorado, Faith-1, Kapitan Byankin, Alfred Oldendorf, Swat, Torm Anholt and Winco Slivia, while Ninth Ocean and Al-Mansourah after loading cement are due to sail out on Friday.

Owing to slow berthing the total tonnage handled on Thursday fell to modest figure of 53,199 tons comprising 30,368 tons of export and 22,831 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Friday: Lalazar with crude oil, Eric G. Gibson, Harmpny, Y.M. Inauguration APL Tulip, Hansa Liberty and Oel Spirit with containers and Maria-L with 42,180 tons of rock phosphate.
