Committee summons Inzamam, Moin

By Our Sports Reporter

ISLAMABAD, April 9: The Senate Committee on Sports has now summoned former Pakistani Captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and wicket-keeper Moin Khan, after they were both reportedly dragged by Shoaib Akhtar into alleged match-fixing scandals.

Banned and broken, pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar allegedly told a television show that he was offered money to underperform in some matches by both the former Test players.

Former team-mates Inzamam-ul-Haq and Moin Khan have threatened to sue the speedster over his allegations.

Meanwhile, Senator Enver Baig told Dawn that the Standing Committee meeting date has been rescheduled from April 17 to April 14.

The Standing Committee will discuss the ban imposed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) disciplinary committee on controversial fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and other issues of PCB.

Chairman PCB Dr Nasim Ashraf, disciplinary committee head Lt Gen (r) Munir Hafeez and temperamental fast bowler Shoiab Akhtar will also appear in the meeting and explain their position.
