HYDERABAD: Nazim approves uplift schemes


HYDERABAD, April 9: Jamshoro District Nazim Malik Asad Sikandar at a meeting on Wednesday approved 33 development schemes which are expected to cost Rs85.61 million.

The nazim expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of work on the rural development package and appointed a committee, headed by the EDO finance, to hear public complaints on the development schemes and submit a report in 15 days.

He directed the district government officials concerned to attend meetings regularly and ensure completion of development schemes within stipulated period. He made it clear that there would be no compromise on the quality of work.

The approved schemes included those of water and power supply, installation of hand pumps in 34 villages of Thana Bula Khan taluka, construction of roads and drains, establishment of basic health unit in Dawach village and construction of dispensary and school buildings in Jamshoro.

Briefing the meeting, district officer, finance, Mohammad Siddiq Buriro, said that Rs185.55 million had been earmarked under the Annual Development Programme to be spent on three schemes of agriculture sector, 11 of water and power, 81 of physical planning and housing, 19 of education and 10 of health. He said that the schemes would be completed soon.—Bureau
