ISLAMABAD, April 8: Eighty personalities, including some celebrities, will carry the Olympic torch when it will move through the federal capital on April 16.

Federal Sports Minister Khawaja Asif told Dawn that preparations for the mega event were in full swing.

He said a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Luo Zhaohui was scheduled for Wednesday to review the preparations for the upcoming Olympic torch relay.

Islamabad is one of the venues for the Beijing Olympic Torch relay selected by Beijing Organising Committee for the Games of XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG).

Olympic torch would arrive in Islamabad on April 16 from Muscat, and would leave for New Delhi, India, the same night.
