RAWALPINDI, April 7: A robbery suspect attempted suicide in the custody of New Town police on Sunday.

The police said Kamran Butt was being interrogated when he attempted suicide by injuring himself with a shard of glass. The injured was shifted to hospital where he was stated to be in a stable condition.

The accused, a jewellery shop owner, was arrested in connection with a robbery committed in the house of a senior government official of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in B Block. The police said four of the culprits, including a housemaid, had been arrested and sent to jail.— Staff Reporter
