Dutch federation to vote against Mosley
BERLIN, April 4: The Dutch motorsport federation said on Friday it would vote for Max Mosley to stand down as head of motor sport’s governing body as a result of his involvement in a sex scandal.
“Because of his high-profile position, this can’t be accepted,” KNAF president Arie Ruitenbeek told BBC Sport.“I have not received my invitation yet [to the FIA general assembly meeting] but we will go and will vote for him to resign.”
Germany’s ADAC Automobile club, Europe’s largest and a member of Mosley’s governing International Automobile Federation (FIA), also issued a statement distancing themselves from the Briton.
German car manufacturers BMW and Mercedes issued a joint statement on Thursday questioning Mosley’s future at the helm of the governing body.
Mosley has called an extraordinary meeting of the FIA’s general assembly to discuss what the body called “the widespread publicity following an apparently illegal invasion of the FIA President’s privacy.”—Reuters
