Beckham on target

CARSON (California), April 4: David Beckham scored one goal and set up another in a 2-0 Los Angeles Galaxy win over the San Jose Earthquakes on Thursday.

The England midfielder played the full 90 minutes, helping the home side post their first victory of the 2008 Major League Soccer season.

Beckham ran on to a pass from Landon Donovan in the eighth minute and sent a low right-foot shot past goalkeeper Joe Cannon for the opening goal at the Home Depot Centre. —Reuters
