Youth slain

SIALKOT, April 4: The body of a kidnapped youth, Amjad Shafiq (27), was found from Naullah Bhed here on Friday.

Some unknown accused had kidnapped him for ransom about two weeks ago and demanded Rs 0.5 million as ransom from his family.

SHOT DEAD: A local trader, Muhammad Zaman (26), was shot dead by two unidentified armed dacoits for offering resistance during a dacoity bid near Majra, Sambrial tehsil, on Friday evening. Zaman was on his way home when two unknown armed accused held him hostage at gunpoint and tried to loot him. As he put up resistance, the accused opened fire, killing him on the spot.—Correspondent
