KARACHI, April 4: Four ships carrying containers, diesel oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile two more ships with containers and cement also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Nine ships, Lucien G.A, Khalid Ibn Al-Waleed, Tiran Island, Pontonikis, Ocean Morning, Bunga Melati-IV, Qem Star, Tai Hu and Kaghan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, wheat, palm oil, chemicals, diesel oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 97,999 tons comprising 88,275 tons of import and 9,724 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Bunga Melati-IV, Lucien G.A, Khalid Ibn Al-Waleed and Qem Star sailed out while Tiran Island, Pontonikis and Tai Hu were expected to depart.
