Chemical weapons

ISLAMABAD, April 3: Pakistan’s Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) Implementation Mechanism has become operational.

Foreign Secretary Riaz Mohammad Khan opened on Thursday the wide area network (WAN) of the CWC Implementation Mechanism at the ministry of foreign affairs.

The setting up of the mechanism at Pakistan’s own initiative underscored its commitment to non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, a foreign office statement said.
