MIRPURKHAS: Classes at Mirpurkhas campus of SU to begin by Sept

MIRPURKHAS, April 3: Classes at Sindh University’s Mirpurkhas Campus will begin in September, said District Naib Nazim Zafar Ahmed Kamali.
Presiding the meeting of University Campus Academic Committee on Thursday he said the building for postgraduate classes will be completed with a cost of Rs24.5 million in which classes of university campus will start.
The meeting was informed that the Academic Block, compound wall, Auditorium and Library Block of the building for postgraduate classes were complete with finishing under way. The building will be handed over to University Administration by June 30.
He said a meeting will soon be held by varsity’s administration to review requirements of campus.
Regional Director Colleges Prof Ghulam Rasool Maher, Principal Government Shah Abdul Latif College Mirpurkhas Prof Akbar Ali Khaskheli, Prof Dr Saeeduddin, Prof Khursheed Ahmed, Prof Abdul Hameed Shaikh and District Officer Education Works, Fazal Illahi Memon attended the meeting.
ACCIDENT: A man was killed and a woman seriously injured when a tractor trolley hit their bike at Mirwah Road near Mirpurkhas, on Thursday.
Reports said Shahnawaz Brohi and Ms Najma Leghari were going on bike when a tractor trolley hit them as result both sustained serious head injuries.
Shahnawaz died on the spot while Ms Najma was rushed to the Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas and later referred to LMUH Hyderabad due to precarious condition.
Taluka police impounded the tractor while its driver fled from the spot.
No case was lodged till the filing of report.
POLIO: Three-day polio eradication campaign will be launched in district from April 8. Dr Hadi Bux Leghari, EDO health Mirpurkhas through a handout issued here on Thursday said that during this campaign 212,750 children would be administered polio drops in the district and for which 545 mobile teams and 105 spots had been fixed.
He advised parents of five-year old children to cooperate with mobile teams and get administrated polio drops to their children.
ROBBERY: Unidentified armed men robbed a motorcyclist of Rs17,000 cash in the Bhansinghabad area on Thursday.
