Bomb hoax at banking courts

Published April 3, 2008

LAHORE, April 2: Working at banking courts on The Mall remained suspended at least for two hours on Wednesday after a bomb hoax created panic among the judges, staff and complainants.

An unidentified man informed the registrar of the banking courts after 11am by phone that some explosive material had been planted on the premises of the building.

The registrar immediately informed duty guards and Rescue 15 police. Old Anarkali police and bomb disposal squad reached there and searched the whole building for almost two hours but found nothing.

An Old Anarkali police official said no case had been registered so far against the prank caller. — Staff Reporter
