KARACHI: Dust storm, rain likely in upper Sindh

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, April 2: Scattered rain and dust storm/thunderstorm may hit the upper region of Sindh over the next two days, Met Department said on Wednesday, adding that dust storm may also hit the rest of the province.

Director of the National Weather Forecasting Centre Akram Anjum said that a strong westerly weather system was developing and could cause dust storm, thunderstorm or rain in the entire country over the next 24 hours.

According to him, under the influence of the system, upper parts of the country may receive widespread rains with thunderstorm for about four/five days. There is also a possibility of hailstorm hit a few places in the Punjab and upper Sindh.

The maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday in Karachi was 31 degrees centigrade and minimum 31 degrees centigrade. Humidity stood at 32 per cent. The Met Office has forecast partly cloudy weather on Thursday.
