Palm oil easy

Published April 3, 2008

KUALA LUMPUR, April 2: Malaysian crude palm oil futures edged lower on Wednesday as vegetable oil markets struggled after Tuesday’s limit-down declines, although India’s move to remove import duties lent some support to prices.

Palm oil fell as much as 10.6 per cent on Tuesday, wiping out most of its gains for the year on stronger prospects of a vegetable oil stock build-up after the USDA reported larger-than-expected reserves for soybean and projected much higher soy plantings for spring.—Reuters
