LAHORE, April 1: Five-goal Ashfaq Ahmed became hero for Master Paints when he helped them triumph over Sherwood 7-4 in the Low-goal Polo Cup here on Tuesday.

The winning side led the first chukker 2-1 as Ashfaq fired his first while two-goal Sufi Mohammad Aamir added one. Three-goal Mian Shahzad Aziz reduced the margin for the losing team.

After an eventful second chukker, the lead was increased to 4-3 by the winners. While Ashfaq struck twice, Kamran Zaidi and Mian Shahzad added one each to reduce the margin for the losers.

The solitary goal of the third chukker by Ashfaq, his fourth, enabled the winners to further increase the lead to 5-3. Ashfaq and Sufi Amir banged home one goal each in the fourth chukker as the winners completed a comfortable win. Shahzad’s third goal could only reduce the margin.

In another match, five-goal Atif Tiwana guided Goodwill 6- 3 1/2 to win against Olympia Chemicals. Mohsin Khosa scored the remaining one. Agha Murtaza Ali Khan scored all three for the losers, who had half-goal handicap.
