HYDERABAD, March 31: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil here on Sunday laid the foundation stone of a road from Hyderabad Bypass to Jamshoro Road which could not be built during the past 25 years, though included in the Qasimabad Regional Plan.

The District Nazim said this new artery will benefit thousands of people of Qasimabad and adjoining villages. He said the district government during two-and-a-half-year tenure had carried out massive development works in Hyderabad, especially Qasimabad which had lost its beauty due to neglect.

He said the present district government had spent billions of rupees on water supply and sewerage schemes, construction of roads, schools, hospitals and recreational spots.

He said due to the absence of sewerage system in Qasimabad and rise in subterranean waters, the value of residential houses on which people had spent their life savings had greatly depreciated.

He said the present district government had streamlined the entire water supply and sewerage system of Qasimabad.
