Three of a family drown

SANGHAR, March 18: Three youths of a family drowned in Nara canal and their bodies were fished out after hectic efforts here on Tuesday.

Reports said that Jalaluddin Rajar, Nabi Bux Rajar, and Mohammad Bux Rajar were going on a bike from Chotiyarioon to Tando Mitha Khan.

Their bike went out of control at the Nara canal bridge where the road was in a dilapidated condition and all three men fell in the canal and drowned.

People of nearby area reached the spot and with the help of divers pull out the bodies from the canal. Jalaluddin was an army man and was on leave. Burnt alive: A woman was burnt alive when a fire broke out in Essa Khan Jatoi village here on Tuesday.

Reports said that five houses were gutted in the fire and the woman, Jami Khatoon, was burnt alive while she was searching for her children in the burning house.

Twenty-five goats, four cows and three buffalos were also burnt in the fire.

Sanghar DCO Rasool Bux Samejo reached the spot. An elderly person, Janib Chandio, also received 50 per cent burn injuries.

A teacher at a village school, Aijaz Jatoi, said that the fire broke out in the evening when villagers were working in the fields.

Sanghar District Nazim Haji Khuda Bux Rajar has announced Rs400,000 as compensation to fire victims.

An amount of Rs50,000 will be paid to the heirs of the deceased woman while Rs10,000 each will be paid to the affected villagers, whose houses were gutted.
