THATTA, March 18: The Anti-Corruption Establishment detected fraud in the district Forest Department, here on Tuesday.

Reports said officials of the department drew Rs2 million for developing nursery but no nursery was developed.

Circle Officer ACE, Ali Akbar Brohi told reporters that he with some officials raided the office at Makli but District Officer Forest and the concerned clerk along with record were found missing.

ILLEGAL CONFINEMENT: Three persons, including two brothers were found in illegal confinement at Garho police station on Tuesday.

Third Civil Judge Thatta, Mehmood raided the police station Garho and recovered Atif Pathan, Ghulam Asghar Pathan and Ali Mohammad Bhutto.

The SHO was directed to appear in the Court of District and Sessions Judge Thatta along with concerned record on March 24.

RAILWAY SLEEPERS: Police have recovered railway sleepers worth lakhs of rupees and arrested nine accused near Jungshahi here on Tuesday.

On a tip off, a special squad of district police raided Kari Mori near Jungshahi and recovered a number of sleepers worth lakhs of rupees.

Police also arrested nine accused identified as Khuda Bux Khaskheli, Rasool Bux Khaskheli, Nawaz Brohi, Ghafoor Brohi, Manzoor, Anwar Ali, Jan Mohammad Samoon, Ali and Ashraf. Police recovered four motorcycles from their possession and registered a case.

EXTORTIONISTS ARRESTED: Dhabeji police arrested two extortionists here on Tuesday.

Police on the complaint of officials of Mineral Department raided a place near Dhabeji and arrested two accused Peroze Jokhio and Sattar Khaskheli and registered case against three on the complaint of Hussain Hadio. They were alleged to be collecting Rs100 per truck as extortion money.
