By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 15: Three people were killed on Saturday in acts of violence in different parts of the city, police and witnesses said.

A 28-year-old son of a head constable was shot dead early on Saturday morning in Korangi, police said.

Zaman Town police said Abid, son of Shaukat, was found shot dead in the house of his neighbour in Bombay Goth near Chakra Goth in Korangi No 1.

They said the investigation police took into custody the house owner, Shabana, 40, her teenaged son, Shamir, and a police constable, Ramzan.

The victim’s body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Paramedical sources said the victim, a minibus driver by profession hailing from southern Punjab, was shot a single bullet to his temple which went through his skull.

The victim’s younger brother, Ali, told Dawn that the victim had been living with him for the past one year after leaving their parental house.

He said that his brother had solemnized Nikah with Shabana’s sister, Farzana, but later he dissolved his marriage following differences with his in-laws.

He said that his brother, however, kept on visiting Farzana at her house which was located in front of their parental house.

The victim’s brother said that Abid went to Shabana’s house late on Friday night after he received a call from her on his cellular phone. “We came out of the house after we heard a shot and ran into Shabana’s house to find Abid shot dead with the woman and her son present on the scene,” he added.

Ali, an garment factory worker, said that the family had fixed the second marriage of Abid after three months.

A 32-year-old man was gunned down in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.

Police said Shahab Khan, son of Ghulam Khan, was attacked by four unknown assailants when he came out of a saloon after having a bath in Pehlwan Goth.

They said the attackers, who were on two motorcycles, sprayed the victim with bullets.

His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed hospital where sources said that the man had received multiple bullet wounds in his upper torso.

The police said the victim was a real estate agent.
