ISLAMABAD, March 14: The capital police have arrested 428 outlaws during last week and recovered stolen goods worth Rs2.56 million from them.
It was informed in a meeting held to review the crime situation and weekly performance of various police circles.
The meeting, which was presided over by Senior Superintendent of Police Syed Kaleem Imam, reviewed the situation of high profile cases, pending references, arrest of proclaimed offenders, court absconders and military deserters.
The meeting was informed that the police had arrested 428 persons, including 25 proclaimed offenders, court absconders and military deserters and recovered three cars, two motorcycles, five mobile phones and household items, worth Rs2,561,000.
Meanwhile, 231 challans were submitted to the court while 21 objectionable challans were also rectified.
During this period, 20 cases pertaining to arms and ammunition were also registered wherein 17 pistols, three 12-bore guns, six 222 rifle and 287 live cartridges were also recovered.—APP
