NAWABSHAH, March 14: Primary school teachers have asked the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) to pay them honorarium.

Talking to reporters at press club here on Thursday, Aijaz Ali Dharejo, Ghulam Qadir Chandio and other teachers said they had performed duties for an NCHD education project in Qazi Ahmed Union Council during 2006-2007 and waiting for the honorarium since long with constant reminders.

“We met the DGM NCHD on Thursday, requesting for payment which he not only rejected but also misbehaved,” they said adding: “We have submitted an application to DCO demanding payment and action against the NCHD.”

The GM, NCHD Khalil Yousfani when contacted said the project was implemented through the Education Department and the NCHD had made payment to concerned teachers according to lists. He said he had advised the affected teachers to contact their department regarding the grievances.

EXHIBITION CANCELLED: Nawabshah District Nazim Faryal Talpur has cancelled the Flower Show, Science, Arts and Cultural Exhibition 2008 which was scheduled from March 15-18 at the H.M. Khoja Garden.

The show was cancelled after receiving reports from concerned agencies regarding apprehensions of law and order situation.

The decision was taken to protect lives and property of people.
