By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 13: At least six people were injured and three vehicles were set on fire on Thursday night as violence erupted in parts of the city on the eve of a strike called by the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal.

Korangi Police said some people burnt tyres on the roads and set on fire a minibus near Chakra Goth and a coach in the industrial area.

Sources said a worker of Sunni Tehrik was hit by a bullet while placing buntings to celebrate the advent of Rabiul Awwal.

Aqib Qadri, 21, was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

In Azizabad, a man and a woman were shot and wounded by gunfire.

In a late-night incident near Salim Centre in North Karachi, three people suffered bullet wounds.
