PESHAWAR, March 7: A jirga of Khalil and Mohmand tribes on Friday pledged to take a unified stand against Lashkar-i-Islam (LI) chief Mangal Bagh if the government did not stop his FM radio station and arrest those charged with the killing of 12 people of the Shaikhan Village on March 3.

Speaking at the jirga held in the hujra of Shah Nawaz and Anwar Khan in Sarband, elders of the two tribes condemned Mangal Bagh for what they said killing innocent people and setting their houses on fire without any reason.

They said that of 11 kidnapped people, two villagers, Noor Islam and Zarkamal, were still in the custody of Mangal Bagh.

They said the government had been informed and if action against the Bara-based militants was not taken they would block Kohat, University and Bara roads and the responsibility would rest with the authorities.
