Imran for offering a way out to Musharraf

By Our Correspondent

WASHINGTON, Jan 24: Tehrik-i-Insaaf chief Imran Khan has urged Pakistani political parties to offer an exit strategy to President Pervez Musharraf to end a dangerous stalemate that may result in the country’s disintegration.

Mr Khan, who was briefing the media on his meetings with US lawmakers and officials on Thursday, said after his dispute with the judiciary in March, President Musharraf had taken several unfortunate steps that had blocked all exit routes for him.

“And it will be good for him and for the country, if all the parties get together and find a way out for him,” said

Mr Khan.

He said in his meetings with US lawmakers and officials he urged them to back the demand for the restoration of the judiciary in Pakistan if they want to win the war against terrorism.

Mr Khan said to win the war against terror; the Americans need the support of the people because the military alone cannot win this war for them.
