Pakistan win SA regatta

KARACHI, Jan 1: Pakistani sailors made waves when they landed the triangular South Asian Yachting Regatta (SAYR), which concluded at Colombo the other day. Besides Pakistan, sailors from India and host Sri Lanka also featured in the regatta.

According to results made available here, the pair of internationals Zahid Rauf/Rana Waqas claimed the Lewis Brown challenge trophy in the Enterprise class.

Shazli Tahir picked up a silver in 4.7 Laser while Maria Seher and Palwasha Khattak bagged gold and silver in Optimist.

The team is due home on Wednesday.—Sports Correspondent
