ISLAMABAD, Dec 16: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has said that after the Jan 8 general election, the new parliament will review all amendments made to the Constitution during President Pervez Musharraf’s rule.

“The parliament may also consider impeachment of President Musharraf in accordance with the situation,” Senator Latif Khosa, head of the PPP’s election monitoring cell, told a press conference here on Sunday.

He said that President Musharraf had ‘defaced’ the 1973 Constitution and it was strange that the retired general was providing ‘protection’ to his own actions.

Answering a question, Mr Khosa said the PPP had always resisted martial laws and would bring the Constitution in line with the aspirations of people.
