Atypical theft of ghee

By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Dec 14: In a peculiar theft, a presumably dirt poor man made off with two packs of edible ghee snatched from an aged lady outside G-6/2 Utility Store Thursday evening, an eye-witness said.

The cries of “Help Me!” drew the attention of a crowd standing in queue outside the outlet, waiting for their turn to purchase subsidised daily-use items.

“Please help me, I am a poor woman,” the victim said as she began to whimper.

Some onlookers went close to her and inquired about the incident, but appeared unwilling to chase the thief considering the “petty” nature of the crime.

The woman had managed to purchase the “precious” commodity after several hours of wait at the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) outlet.
