PESHAWAR: ANP vows to struggle for judges’ reinstatement

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Dec 8: The Awami National Party (ANP) announced on Saturday that it would continue to struggle for the reinstatement of the deposed judges. The announcement was made by ANP’s Central Election Cell Chairman Haji Mohammad Adeel, who is also the additional secretary-general of the party, while speaking at different corner meetings in NA-2, NA-4, PF-9 and PF-4 constituencies of Tarnab and Kotla Mohsin Khan in Peshawar district.

He said that since other political parties were still confused about participation in the elections, his party had decided to launch its campaign, a press release of the party quoted him as saying. “Whatever other political parties decide about the election boycott, the ANP will work for the restoration of pre-Nov 3 judiciary.

“We fully support the restoration of judiciary and are part of the struggle for it,” Mr Adeel claimed. He also demanded freedom of media, and condemned imposition of ban on some private TV and radio channels.

He said that the National Accountability Bureau should launch probe into affairs of the previous government. He criticised the MMA-led provincial government for ignoring problems of the common people.
