Talks with India today on Kashmir, Siachen

By Jawed Naqvi

NEW DELHI, Dec 6: Caretaker Foreign Minister Inamul Haq, here to attend a Saarc ministerial conference, said he would meet his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee on Friday for a customary bilateral meeting during which the issues of Kashmir, Siachen and Sir Creek are expected to be discussed.

“This (Saarc) meeting is not primarily to discuss bilateral issues,” Mr Haq told journalists ahead of the two-day Saarc council of ministers meet beginning on Friday.

“But, certainly in our meeting with the Indian minister I will be raising the outstanding issues and the need to resolve them, particularly the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, the issue of Siachen and Sir Creek etc.”

Mr Haq recalled that the fourth round of composite dialogue had been completed.
