PESHAWAR: Winter vacation in Swat

PESHAWAR, Dec 6: Winter vacations for primary, secondary and higher secondary schools will commence on Dec 7 and last till Feb 15 in Swat and Shangla districts, according to a notification of the NWFP Schools and Literacy Department.

The government will provide funds for meeting electricity and coal charges for heating the educational institutions for the same period.

There will be no spring vacations to increase the number of schooling days, the notification said.

It added that the Home/ Promotion Examination from KG to 8th classes will be held according to the schedule approved by the education department.

The Executive District Officers (S&L) of Swat and Shangla districts will ensure liaison between principals, teachers and the districts governments and the Election Commissioner in connection with election training and duties.

The DCOs and Executive District Officers (S&L) of Swat and Shangla have been asked to comply and enforce the above decisions in government and private institutions.—APP
