MITHI: Candidate spells out priorities

MITHI, Dec 3: An independent candidate for PS-62, Bhooromal Kolhi, has said that after being elected, he would urge policy makers to construct small dams in the Parkar area for storage of rainwater for land cultivation that goes waste into Rann of Kutch during rainy season.

Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Mr Kolhi said that 70 per cent of the population of his constituency comprised of minority people and no candidate of any minority community had filled nomination form against him because he had filled nomination form with a consensus of relevant circles.

He said that if elected, it would be his priority to seek establishment of industries for processing granite and China clay in Thar to provide jobs to local people, make efforts to decrease their migration during drought.
