PESHAWAR, Dec 1: Sui gas subscribers in various localities of Peshawar on Saturday complained of low pressure and blamed it on ‘negligence’ of the officials concerned. A complainant from Gulberg said the gas pressure became very low in the morning and evening hours.

Another subscriber said his Hayatabad locality had also been facing the same problem for quite some time and added that officials of the Sui Northern Gas Company were least bothered to resolve it.

“The problem starts with the advent of winter and sometimes the supply remains suspended for several hours,” said a female journalist

Complaints about the suspension of gas supply and low pressure were also received from Yakatuth, Choti Lal Kurthi, Faqirabad, Hayatabad, Gulberg No 2, Shaheen Colony and Bara Gate.

When contacted, an official attending the SNGC helpline said the department had not yet started the yearly loadshedding and attributed the problem to pressure on the main transmission line supplying gas to Peshawar.

“In case of an emergency the company was compelled to suspend the supply,” he said and added that work was in progress and the problem would be solved shortly.

It is learnt that loadshedding might start next month.
