HYDERABAD, Nov 28: Police defeated NWFP 80-1 as six matches were decided in the National Women’s basketball championship at the Hyderabad Club on Wednesday. Romana and Qurat-ul-Ain scored 22 and 19 points respectively for Police.

Wapda beat Police 36-26 in a closely contested match. Winners’ Umme Laila scored 17.

Wapda in their other match overcame Islamabad 43-20. Hina Chaudhry (12 points) and Umme Laila (10 points) stole the limelight.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) outclassed Punjab 66-19.

Binish scored 20 and Saba Awan 12 points for the winners.

HEC also beat Sindh Whites 58-8. Binish again shone by scoring 12 points.

Sindh Whites defeated Balochistan 8-6 as Sindh’s Hira, Madiha and Balochistan’s Nausheen scored two points each.
