KARACHI: Over 165 nomination papers collected
KARACHI, Nov 21: After the announcement of the schedule for the upcoming general elections to be held on January 8 by the Election Commission of Pakistan, over 165 nomination papers were collected here on Wednesday from the returning officers for the national and provincial assembly seats for Karachi.
According to the details, four nomination papers were collected from additional civil judge and assistant district and sessions judge, Central, Qazi Mohammad Naeem Siddiqui for NA-245, PS-101 and 103. Seven nomination papers were collected from additional district and sessions judge, South, Mohammad Azeem for NA-249, PS-110 and 111. Six nomination papers were collected from addition district and sessions judge, South, Sultan Mohammad Awan for NA-250, PS-112 and 113. Three nomination papers were collected from first district and sessions judge, South, Khalid Teepu Rana for NA-256, PS-108 and 109.
Around 40 nomination papers were collected from additional district and sessions judge, Central, Farzana Iqbal for NA-247 and PS-104. One nomination paper was collected from additional district and sessions judge, East, Abdul Razzaq for NA-254, PS-124 and 125. Five nomination papers were collected from senior civil judge, East, Abdul Karim for NA-244, PS-100 and 101. Five nomination papers were collected from additional district and sessions judge, West, Jahangir Daio for NA-242, PS-95, 96 and 97.
One nomination paper was collected from senior civil judge, East, Abdul Latif for PS-105. Five nomination papers were collected from senior civil judge, East, Abdul Quddus Memon for NA-156, PS-199, 120 and 121.
Around 60 nomination papers were collected from senior civil judge, East, Abdul Karim Ansari for NA-255, PS-122 and 123. About 13 nomination papers were collected from additional district and sessions judge, West, Hafeeza Osman for NA-241, PS-122 and 123, while 17 nomination papers were collected from senior civil judge, West, Tahira Mohsin for NA-239, PS-89 and 90.
Capt Haleem Siddiqui, Mirza Ikthiar Baig, Imtiaz Sheikh, Amanullah Paracha, Dr Farooq Sattar, Shoaib Bukhari and Najmi Alam were amongst those who collected nomination papers on Wednesday.
The Election Commission, in pursuance of the provisions of Section 7 of the Representation of the People Act, 1976, has issued the list of district returning officers appointed for the district/agency noted against them in connection with the holding of general elections to the constituencies of the national assembly and provincial assemblies falling within their administrative jurisdiction.
Following are the constituencies, returning officers and assistant returning officers for Karachi West.
NA-239: Fourth senior civil judge, fourth civil judge and judicial magistrate and first civil judge and judicial magistrate, West.
NA-240: Second additional district and sessions judge, second civil judge and judicial magistrate and third senior civil judge and judicial magistrate, West.
NA-241: Third additional district and sessions judge, third senior civil judge and fifth civil judge and judicial magistrate, West.
NA-242: Fifth additional district and sessions judge, fifth senior civil judge and eighth civil judge and judicial magistrate, West.
PS-89: Fourth senior civil judge and fourth civil judge and judicial magistrate, West.
PS-90: Fourth senior civil judge and first civil judge and judicial magistrate, West.
PS-91: Second additional district and sessions judge and second civil judge and judicial magistrate, West.
PS-92: Second additional district and sessions judge and third civil judge and judicial magistrate, West.
PS-93: Third additional district and sessions judge and third senior civil judge, West.
PS-94: Third additional district and sessions judge, fifth civil judge and judicial magistrate, West.
PS-95: Fifth additional district and sessions judge and fifth senior civil judge, West.
PS-96: Fifth additional district and sessions judge and eighth civil judge and judicial magistrate, West.
PS-97: Fifth additional district and sessions judge and tenth civil judge and judicial magistrate, West.
