Passengers looted

KHAIRPUR, Nov 19: Bandits robbed passengers of a wagon on the National Highway near Mithri on Sunday. Three bandits who had boarded the Khairpur-bound wagon at Kot Bungalow held the passengers at gunpoint and robbed them of cash, mobile phones and valuable belongings. They also snatched gold ornaments from some female passengers.

Before escaping the criminals injured a journalist Khan Mohammad Mallah who was also travelling in the wagon when he put up resistance.

The passengers later staged a demonstration on the highway but ended it after police reached there and assured them that the bandits would be arrested soon.

BOOKED: Police booked ten people on charges of being involved in the murder of a girl late on Sunday night. Teepani Bahlam police field an FIR against Irshad Channa, Laung, Razzaq and seven others on the complaint of Ghulam Shabbir Kalhoro who accused the nominated persons of killing his daughter Shumaila Kalhoro.
