PESHAWAR, Nov 10: Former provincial minister Pir Mohammad Khan who had suffered injuries in a suicide attack here on Friday, died in the Hayatabad Medical Complex on Saturday. He was about 55.

Pir Mohammad Khan was present at the residence of Federal Minister for Political Affairs Amir Muqam, when a suicide bomber blew himself up, killing three security personnel.

He and another person had received head injuries.

The body of Pir Mohammad was dispatched to his native Shangla district, where he would be laid to rest in Poran village on Sunday.

Pir Mohammad was a senior politician and associated with the Jamaat-i-Islami.

During his political career spanning over 25 years, he was elected as the member of the NWFP Assembly five times and had also become the minister for excise, taxation and revenue in the cabinet of Chief Minister Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan Abbasi in 1997 after he developed differences with the Jamaat-i-Islami.
