HYDERABAD: Fund allocation for water schemes

HYDERABAD, Nov 10: District nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil on Friday night announced an allocation of Rs5 million for the mega projects and small schemes of water supply and sewerage system for UC-1 of city taluka.

The taluka nazim also announced financial assistance of Rs500,000 for the same purpose.

He was speaking at a function after inaugurating the newly constructed roads in UC-1 and UC-4 of city taluka at Gharibabad.

The city taluka nazim, Javed Jabbar, nazim UC-1 Malik Rafique, naib nazim Iqbal Pirzada, nazim UC-3 Q.Mohammad Hakim, nazim UC-2 Javed Qureshi, nazim UC-4 Nasir Baloch, officials of the district government and notables of the area attended the function.

Kanwar Naveed Jamil reiterated that the district government was determined to provide all modern facilities to the people of the district without any discrimination. He said in the past, the historical city of Hyderabad was being equated with Moen-jo-Daro. He, however, said that time was not far when the entire district of Hyderabad will give the look of a modern city.

He said presently no road was without light and no roundabout without high mask tower.

He said Hyderabad had been totally deprived of recreational facilities in the past but the district government had simultaneously under taken the construction of 33 parks and playgrounds in Noorani Basti, Mustafa ground, Barrage Colony, Nasim Nagar, Bhittai Nagar Afzal ground and other localities.

He said work had also been started on the Rani Bagh at a cost of Rs50 million. He said that the construction and renovation work has been extended and the total amount has been increased up to Rs150 million.

Not only this, he said, billions of rupees were being spent on education, health, water supply and other schemes and modernisation of infrastructure.

Nazim city taluka Javed Jabbar also spoke on the occasion.
