Highway Robber arrested

By Our Correspondent

SHEIKHUPURA, Nov 3: The highway patrol police arrested a robber after an encounter on Saturday evening, while his accomplice fled.

A police team, which was on a routine patrol, saw two highway robbers fleeing after looting poultry farm owners Arif and Latif near a powerhouse on Muridkey Road. The police chased the robbers, who took refuge in woods and opened fire at police.

The police retaliated and arrested one of the robbers who was identified as Qaiser, while his co-accused fled. Deputy Superintendent of Police Sohail Kamboh said Qaiser was a ‘notorious gangster’.

SHOT DEAD: Robbers looted a medical store in Farooqabad’s Kashmiran Bazaar and shot dead the owner, Abdul Rehman Pasha. Police said the incident was the outcome of an old enmity.
