Centcom chief in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Nov 1: US Central Command chief Admiral William Fallon arrived here on Thursday for talks with Pakistani officials, the military said.

His visit comes as amid an upsurge in violence blamed on militants.

During his stay, Admiral Fallon, whose area of responsibility covers Central Asia and the Middle East, will hold talks with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Gen Tariq Majid, and other officials on Friday, a military official told AFP.

Admiral Fallon is also expected to call on Gen Musharraf who is also the army chief, sources said.—AFP
