Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Oct 8: Eight ships carrying containers and palm oil and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the port was maintained on the higher side where 11 ships notably among them being Oel Spirit, Sima Sahba, Oel Shreyas, Tenth Ocean, Jitra Bhum and Ever Govern to unload and load containers and Magnate and Pulaus Cebu to unload and load general cargo were berthed.

Sailing was also active as Cap Colorado, Tenth Ocean, Oel Shreyas, Conti Esperance, Sima Sahba, Swat, Stolt Protector, Diamond Park, Ken Blossom, Actos and Kaspar Schulte departed on Monday, while Jitra Bhum, Magnate Everm Govern, Pulau, Cebu, Wadi Al-Rayan, Oel Spirit, Depina and Golden Arrow are due to sail out on Tuesday.

A total tonnage of 0.162m tons comprising 49,888 tons of export tonnage and 0.113m tons of import cargo was handled during the last two days.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Golden Accord to load ethanol, Bunga Melati-4 with 8,000 tons of RBD palm oil, Harmony, Iran Sattari, APL Sokhna, Soon Fu with containers, Lucky Arrow to load 11,000 tons of cement and Ocean Frontier to load 30,000 tons of clinker.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Oct 8: Four ships carrying containers, furnace oil and coal were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with containers and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Nine ships, Sima Pars, Finaland, Saudi Abha, Sadwan Island, Spar Emerald, Vema Ocean, Mineral Star and Lowlands Sumida, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, fertiliser, seeds, furnace oil and coal.

A cargo volume of 61,906 tons comprising 45,247 tons of import and 16,662 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were active as Sima Pars, Al-Mirqab, Saudi Abha, Finland and Mineral Star left the port.
