SARGODHA, Oct 5: Six members of a family were killed and two were injured when a car caught fire after a crash on Sargodha-Sahiwal Road, some 30 kilometres away from here, on Friday evening.

The fire was caused by the CNG cylinder explosion after the car ran into a roadside tree after hitting a truck coming from the opposite direction near Chawey Wala.

Eight members of a family, including three children, were travelling from Sargodha to Sahiwal when the driver lost control over the steering. Naveed, Samreen and Sheeren Pathani and two children, Shahzeb and Arooj, died on the spot while Rehana and Tauqeer were taken to hospitals in Sargodha and Lahore.
