KARACHI : Encroachments at monuments


KARACHI, Oct 3: The Sindh government has constituted a committee for the removal of encroachments in and around heritage monuments, in accordance with the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

According to an official statement issued on Wednesday, the Sindh Culture and Tourism Secretary will act as convener of the committee. The Sindh Mines and Mineral Development Secretary, OSD to Sindh Chief Secretary, Director-General, Special Project and Archaeology Department Director-General of Federal Ministry of Culture will be its members.

The committee will also prepare a master plan for the protection of heritage monuments.—APP
